Leading Troupe 8249

As President of International Thespian Society Troupe 8249 (2024-2027), I work to make our troupe more connected, involved, and active both within our school and throughout the theatre community. My goal has been to create opportunities for students to lead, serve, advocate, and build connections that go beyond our own program.

RGV Theatre Unity Initiative

I created the RGV Theatre Unity Initiative to strengthen connections between theatre programs across the Rio Grande Valley. Through a traveling banner, participating troupes add their signatures and continue passing it from school to school. The initiative encourages students to support other programs, attend productions outside their own schools, and build a stronger theatre community across the RGV.

Theatre Advocacy

Through Theatre in Our Schools Month, I have worked to bring greater recognition to theatre education within our community. These efforts have resulted in proclamations from the City of Edinburg and Hidalgo County recognizing the importance of theatre education.

Building our Troupe

As president, I worked with our officer team to create a more student-led structure within Troupe 8249. We developed committees focused on show leadership, public relations, community service, advocacy, and other areas of our program, giving more members opportunities to take responsibility and contribute to the troupe.

Troupe Leadership

Beyond individual projects, I help oversee the day to day leadership of Troupe 8249 alongside our officer team. This includes planning meetings and activities, communicating with members, supporting productions, recognizing student accomplishments, and finding new ways to keep our troupe involved throughout the year.

SaberStager Monthly

Troupe Communications Initiative

I created SaberStager Monthly to improve communication within Troupe 8249 and give our members one place to find important updates, upcoming events, opportunities, and troupe accomplishments. Each edition helps keep our members informed while also recognizing the work happening throughout our program.
